I request all potential partners be at least 21 years of age due to the nature of RP revolving around Casimir and his family. The Derinloire family as a whole were reasonably well-known low nobles (for all the wrong reasons) before a fire claimed most of the family's lives and the manor due to their extremely unpopular, disliked, now deceased former heads of household. Those who survived lived in Ul'dah and served in a Free Company while they quietly worked on preparing to return and rebuild the family. While he himself may know next to no one in Ishgard, the name may yet be recognized by others due to the extremely negative association despite their hard work in turning their fortunes around.B. The neck could almost be mistaken for a form-fitting, extremely high-necked turtleneck sweater, save for the pattern of raised scars that would be noticeable in anything that would expose the lower half of the neck. His hands are pitch black and sport similar scarring that continues up his arms and beyond. One could reasonably assume that they are ritualistic in nature, rather than simply ornamental.F: Seems to have a thing for blonde, strong, fearless women, spicy redheaded men, fellow intellectuals and bookworms of any gender, those who are domineering and physically strong, those who are taller, those who are older than he is (30+), and leans toward Elezen partners. Personality

Casimir is a gentle soul with a gentle voice, a bit reserved due to having grown up with a rigid schedule from his turns of schooling, and a father who instilled perfectionist ideals into him that he in turn developed in regards to his work and how he conducts himself.He strives to be respectful and kind to all he meets, occasionally to the point of white knighting, but his intentions are sincere. He overall takes criticism fairly well and attempts to make things right if he oversteps or makes mistakes. That being said, he is a bit of a flirt, if awkward due to his social ineptitude, but he makes up for it with his earnestness, honesty, and knowing what he wants, though he keeps newer people at arm's length for a variety of reasons. Poor man's doing his best. Sometimes said to have 'negative rizz', but somehow manages to 'fail upward' in spite of it.Nevertheless, he's an overachiever and thrives off of high-stress situations. If there's a chance to help someone, he'll take it without a second thought, nouliths drawn and ready to go regardless of the potential injury to himself. He's also exceptionally book smart and can research and problem solve his way out of most challenging situations placed in front of him given the time to do so, but is also so staggeringly lacking in street smarts that he occasionally seems to be an idiot for it.

Background

Casimir was born to Marquis Derinloire and Zarbaste Baenmtor in the Goblet at their Free Company. He was Marquis's firstborn son but secondborn child, and Zarbaste's 'miracle baby' after a lengthy battle of infertility. Like all Derinloires, he was born with lavender eyes, though he possessed a peculiar pair that seemed capable of entrancing those who met his gaze.Even as a child, Casimir was bright and exceptionally gifted, as well as given the lion's share of his parents' attention, much to his sister, Estelle's, chagrin. Having been raised as a single child until he came along, she did not take well to suddenly having to share her father's attention, and immediately disliked Casimir from the start, though she did begin to soften as he grew older. Even still, nearly as soon as he was able to accidentally cast his first bit of magic, his parents began nurturing his ability to rein it in early with proper control, as well as teaching him a rather diverse repertoire for him to draw from. While his sister was proficient with black magic, Casimir excelled in all forms to an almost frightening degree.When he was about six, having taken notice of his father's mental illness struggles, decided that he wanted to become a doctor to try and help him 'get better'. Marquis, seeing this as something that would be very useful for a variety of reasons, asked his Free Company leader, Kaiser, for a sponsor given the man's ties to Sharlayan, and was granted the sponsorship, Casimir's education paid for, and permission to use his villa for the duration of his studies. And with that, the boy and his parents packed up and went to Sharlayan so Casimir could chase this desire.And as it turned out: Casimir was something of a prodigy. Upon arriving in Sharlayan, the boy was possessed of an insatiable appetite for learning, devoting himself entirely to his classes and learning all that he could, which eventually set him well ahead of his peers, and set to graduate early. Upon doing so, he graduated with honors in the fields of somanoutics, general medicine and surgery, psychiatry, and minored in the occult and alchemy as a way to honor his mother and her culture.When he finished school, he was rather distressed to realize that while he was staggeringly book smart, he was not nearly so socially adept, not by a long shot. Coming to Ishgard to live with his newly reestablished family, he was quickly overwhelmed by the sense of responsibility and all the new customs and social graces expected of a young nobleman, and floundered quite a lot as he tried to get it all down and decide his next course of action.That ended up being a chance meeting with a noblewoman Knight in the streets of the city one evening in passing, immediately taken with her flaxen locks, blue eyes and stern demeanor. Whatever she did, he wanted to be a part of it, and figured that the Knighthood might have use for field medics despite the war being over. Sounded like killing several birds with one stone, so he pursued it, and later met the Lady Knight at a tea social he had been given an invite to before making up his mind properly. While they didn't exactly hit it off, seeing her outside of her gear and how she was as a person only further caused Casimir to fall all the more deeply for her.Unfortunately, there was another at the social who also had his eyes on her, who followed them out as they left together. He and the Lady had a decent conversation at least while they wandered the city and attempted to shake their pursuer. When all seemed safe enough, they parted ways, though Casimir was beset by doubt, and chased after her to make sure she got home alright.Good thing for him, his hunch had been right, as he caught up with her in the midst of her pursuer attempting to kidnap her. Casimir was able to thwart the attempt and get her home safely, but it only solidified his idea of wanting to serve in the Knighthood. Not that the Lady needed someone to 'save' her, but he did want to get to know her better, and it would help him, as well.Upon bringing the events of the evening to his father and his uncle, Arsene, the three hatched a plan. In order to keep the Lady from being further targeted, they would offer Casimir as a suitor with a dowry, and not only secure her from further harm (as the pursuer was also another nobleman), but help with washing the past sins of their House from their family name, as well as garner them a powerful ally in the noble sphere towards solidifying their foothold again.With this plan in motion, they set forth their offer to the other House in question for the Lady's hand, only for it to be countered by the other nobleman who had attempted to kidnap her. The courted House asked if the Derinloires had a counteroffer, to which they once more contacted Kaiser (another uncle) for assistance in outbidding the other nobleman. Kaiser did so, in exchange for a favor (given he gave the family more than enough to outbid the other suitor), and secured the betrothal.With reality now setting in, and Casimir having gone through with joining the Knights, he did his best to focus on training and getting to know his now betrothed better, which was much more difficult than originally anticipated, on account of her being rather upset about the arrangement. He was sympathetic to her distress and did not originally intend for things to proceed as they had, but now had to navigate the change of plans as best he could.During the course of planning for the wedding, plenty of things happened: he continued attempting to figure out how to talk to his betrothed, her mother fell deathly ill and put his schooling to the test in a bid to save her, his father and uncle Arsene had a devastating falling out and one of his betrothed's brothers committed an accidental murder in self-defense against his own wife who attacked him with a knife. In spite of this, their wedding eventually went off without a hitch and his mother-in-law was saved thanks to the efforts of himself and his network of people willing to assist, though there were still fires to put out by his father-in-law and his uncle.He and his now wife have recently returned from a three-year honeymoon abroad, staying with his family in their estate, and celebrated the birth of their infant son, who he adores.
